The Once and Future King II: The Aftermath

If one were stabbed in the heart at the hands of another by a dagger would they grab the dagger and force it in  more deep, turn it, viciously ripping ripping into their own flesh?  No sane person or fan base would commit such a crime of self hate, self loathing, or self worthiness.  In the NBA feeling sorry for ones self is not accepted and never will be, it doesn't promote growth and it only fosters regression not allowing for chances to progress, to ascend.  The Cavaliers are stuck in what I would like to call "Sorry George Lucas" the Dark side of the force and their self loathing will never be rewarded.  They became Anakin Skywalker who later became Darth Vader.

Insert random Yoda quote here:  "Fear is the path to the dark side.  Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate.  Hate leads to suffering."

Tonight the Cavs were showcased, poised to show the world that they'd moved on from  losing The King but instead something worse happened, they descended and fell prey to the dark side right before our eyes ala Anakin's descent and transformation into the dark Sith Lord Darth Vader.  As soon as the King took the court there was the chant of ass-hole.  How rude and just plain uncivilized.  Later in the game there were chants of "Akron hates you" mocking the King's hometown that's about 40 minutes away from Cleveland.  Worst of all there were chants of "De-lon-te" a reference to Delonte West, a former teammate of the King who allegedly had a sexual relationship with the King's mother last year and was found out during the Cavs/Celtics playoff series.

There were too many shirts depicting anti King language and signs of the same nature, too many to go in depth on but the reaction was completely and utterly useless.  The right thing to do, the classy thing to do was to stand and cheer the King for all the great things that he had done and then say "Hey you really hurt us but we forgive you", turning to anger and spite caused their own destruction, their own emotional suicide.  He came, he saw, he conquered despite the hatred that surrounded him, despite the fake fans who were selfish and never truly appreciated him, despite the owner who gave him so many cookies that the King grew tired of cookies and wanted something of more substance, more discipline.  The owner who showed his true color with his letter to fans the night of the Decision.  The anger was supposed to hurt him but it fueled him.  The words were supposed to sting his heart but they made his heart grow strong.  He had focus, strength, and the goal to conquer which he did soundly.  Lets take a moment of silence for the Cleveland Cavaliers, may they rest in peace and remain silent forever because on the night of the return all their credibility was lost as they sunk into the depths of the dark side, the land of irrelevance.

The aftermath was 38 points scored, 5 rebounds pulled in, 8 assist dished out, all while playing only three quarters "29 minutes" and a win by 28 points.  Job well done King for on this night your mission was accomplished!

Insert random Obi Wan Kenobi Quote:  "You can't win, Darth.  If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
