The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday that they have given Johnson a second 10 day contract.
This comes as no surprise to anyone who has been watching the team play recently. Johnson has been very effective in picking up where he was needed; averaging 10 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals in about 25 minutes per game. He truly guaranteed his semi-peremenant stint with the team when he managed to score 12 points in sundays game against the Brooklyn Nets. Johnson's contact was supposed to expire after Sundays game but news came that he flew into New York ahead of the team with the expectation of signing the new contract.
Johnson originally signed with the Celtics on January 17th, after playing 20 games with the D-League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The team now has until next month to make the decision on whether or not they will keep Johnson for the remainder of the season.
