The Toronto Raptors traded John Salmons to the Atlanta Hawks for Lou Williams, Lucas "Bebe" Nugiera, and a first round pick. The Raptors were planning on waiving John Salmons prior to Monday so they could avoid paying him $7 million. They were able to add more depth to their bench in Williams who was one of the best players role players in the league before tearing his ACL. Lucas was the 16th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft from Brazil that played in the Spanish ACB League this season and is a great shot blocker. The Raptors also have until midnight tonight to waive Tyler Hansbrough and save $2.3 million.
